We are monthly gay men's figure drawing group meeting regularly since 2010. Gay and gay friendly artists and models gather in an private setting to produce art that is more edgy than typical art groups explore. The nude male models are posed in classical, sensual and occasionally sexually provocative ways. They are chosen for their beauty or their sexual energy and not for their experience as models. In general the poses are held for about twenty minutes with appropriate breaks. Open to sketchers of ALL skill levels including beginners, hobbyists and fine artists. It is a fun group with members of many ages and sizes. Sexuality does not matter as long as you are comfortable with an all male group and models who can occasionally be frisky to overt in their posing. We typically meet on the second week of each month in Boulder and in Denver every third month. A 5th week in the month that includes our meeting day usually means a special bonus session where members can pose too. Zoom sessions available for folks (single or couples) who want to try posing in a private session outside Colorado, or for artists who would like to draw a live model from home. Email for details. Our group features: Open drawing session, no instruction. Format: 5 2 minutes gestures, one 10 minute, five 20 minute poses and some five minute poses. Light snacks and drinks, fun music. Bring your own sketching materials & a donation for the model ($10- 20 suggested for each model) Bringing food or drinks to share is very much appreciated but not required or expected. Requests: 1) if you are using a messy medium, like pastel or charcoal, please put something down to protect the floor, clean up after yourself and please do not blow dust from your drawing into the air. 2) no chemical solvents, turpentine or any other agent/medium with a strong chemical odor. 3) please do not use headphones, ipods or other personal music delivery systems. 4) PLEASE RSVP EACH SESSION. Bonus weeks: Sometimes we host a casual members pose and draw night. No hired models, we will take turns posing and drawing eachother. Anyone can come and no need to pose. Info for Models: Pay: We're a small group, so the $30+ gratuity is based on attendence. Sometimes models can earn up to $100, but $50-$75 is average when turnout is good. $30 is the minimum. Poses: are really what the model decides where he wants to take us. The model will be nude but will not have to do anything that he would be uncomfortable doing. At a minimun, just a bit more provocative and sensual than a normal figure group. Some models would pose with a hard on, some would not. Some models might do leather gear, others not. If two models wanted to pose, the two could pose together, The model will be incharge. Sensual and seductive is fine, no need to be more explicit unless the model choses to go there. Lack of experience is not a big deal but lack of enthusiasm, creativity and sensuality would be a problem. Requirements: I will need a photo or 2 of yo. Keep in mind that the photo not only documents your looks, Interested models should send pics and detialed modeling fantasies. I need to know that you can bring creativity, eroticism and enthusiasm. I need to how you will express that in your poses, be specific about what will turn you on in posing. A one or two sentence response such as "open to anything," does not show me that you can bring it. Let me know if you are interested in solo or partner posing. I'll likely pair you with some one so I need to have a sense of your looks and limits. I hate, hate, hate it when I pair up some guys and then one complains about the other once I book them. PLEASE let me know if there are any types you can't pose with. Keep in mind it is modeling, not dating. Be specific if you have limits on the other model's looks. The blunt reality: I am not against older or heavier guys posing for our group but please be able to also find a partner to pose with that has a strong contrast of some kind to you such as: skin color, body type, age, look, etc. MOST NEW MODELS WILL HAVE TO BE INTERVIEWED OR AUDITION FIRST. No longer booking newbies who don't show, auditions should weed out the flakes. I've got a lot of models to choose from so if you don't give me details when you contact me, I won't have much to go on and will likely hire someone else who has shown me that they can make the session worthwhile. Confirmed models who cancel will be moved to the bottom of the list and no shows certianly will not be asked back. | ||
